MISSION STATEMENT:

What was here yesterday probably has no bearing on what is here today.

What you see today will have no bearing on what you see here tomorrow
...maybe

I'll be back...

...maybe even as soon as tomorrow. Don't hold your breath.

Anyway, my chariot awaits. We're going to run a few errands while heading up to Redding.

Thank you to all who have checked in, either here or by email, to wish me well or to comment.

NPO...

...since midnight and I have at least another 4 1/2 hours to go until surgery. It reminds me of when I was a kid and we were supposed to fast if we were going to receive communion.
The worst of it is that I'm pretty much unsupervised until 10am when I check into the PASS Unit and when I'm told not to do something I think
constantly about what it is that I'm not supposed to do.

It was interesting to check my email this morning. There were 40 messages in the Inbox; eight of them were not spam; five were actually relevant and each of those referred to this blog.

Come to think of it... it's really Day Four

I haven't had a cigarette since Wednesday night.
...and, YES! Those pictures to the left are really me.

Day One

Probably there wouldn't be a blog from here if so many folks weren't interested in the surgical procedure taking place tomorrow. As it says in the header, I'm lazy. Blogging seems like it may be a way to only have to write once.
Yes, dear reader, tomorrow at noon... That's Monday, June 30, 2008, 12:00 PDT... an extremely experienced neurosurgeon is gonna operate. Some of you know more about it that others. I will leave it to you to speculate about why that is because it makes for interesting conversations.
In any event, I should return home sometime on Tuesday and get back to the keyboard as soon as possible.
Some may wish to know what led up to this event. Possibly, that information will be posted... along with lots and lots of other stuff that nobody cares about.

Some of you have heard me say, in the past, "It's not about me."
That's not true. The truth is I may not be much, but it's all I think about.
