A musical response

.
The Brighton Pensioner posted a video to his blog yesterday.
Well this blog had been just a little too serious lately so this is my response:

There are more
where that came from

If you have to ask

Here is an answer.

We can't promise
you will like it.

Just in case you missed this

.
Another blogger has posted the symptoms of swine flu.

...and things you really don't want to know
.

Rough patch

.
Dealing with wreckage of the past is kinda like cleaning out the garage. Nobody really really wants to do it.

...and we'll never find
the good stuff if we don't

"...and we are willing to go to any lengths..."

.

Another tool in the arsenal chest

.
I became a member of Facebook.
First, because I was curious
Second, because a number of friends and family are also on there.
Lastly, because it was the only way I knew how to contact a particular individual.
No, I am not stalking them. At least not in the sense that most of us are familiar with the term. It is just that I lost touch with this person a long time ago. It was completely unintentional. But I made some very poor choices and time being what it is, there's been no contact for far too long.
I did receive a response and that is another story.
The bonus for becoming a member is that I now receive regular updates from family members who are otherwise so busy that they don't have time to phone, write or email.

Yes, this is a follow-up to this post

Little irritations

.
The connection to the clickyweb at the convention site was not working properly so I have been unable to vent, except to Sharon, for the last three days. The convention was fun. There was some work involved, which I shall be finishing soon... I hope.
We are returning to the same site for at least two more years, so my guess is that the Lions from our district are happy with the location.

Away... again

.

This weekend is the second of the three Lions convention trifecta (State/Multiple District, District and International). If there's an opportunity and I'm not too busy, I will try to keep things posted.

otherwise we'll
catch up on Monday

Another missed opportunity

.
I am at an awkward age.
I'm old enough that I should be able to give sage advice and counsel to others.
I am more than old enough to know better than to attempt physical acts which may actually damage me.
And I am smart enough to finally realize that every bit of knowledge that I have can be put on the had of a pin compared to all of the knowledge in the world.
I was at a discussion meeting this morning where the topic was ego and what we do to restrain it. I realized at the end of the meeting that I was happy that I wasn't called upon because then it would have been necessary for me to say something about the subject and possibly look foolish in others eyes. It's funny how the ego is. It will allow you to appear foolish on purpose, but it mostly just creates a facade.
This is leading somewhere... eventually. I will let you know how it turns out if I ever get past my ego.

I suppose this should be on R&M,
but more folks will probably see it here.

Folks who've worked in pizza places will get this

.

Dueling Morons Can Be More Entertaining Than Television
Pizza guy #1, after reading Snapple cap: Okay: what's a bird that can swim but can't fly? Seven letters.
Pizza guy #2: Hmmm...a duck?
Pizza guy #1: What? No, seven letters. And a duck isn't even a bird, a duck is a duck!

Sure I know what today is

.

But I'm not worried because I have already done my taxes. In fact we already received our state and federal refunds. What that means, of course, is that we sent them money to use interest free until they had to pay it back to us.

Better that they give it
back to us than use it to bail
out those clowns who can't
operate a business at a profit

Blogger

.
The host seems to have had indigestion this morning.
I was able to see everything except the blogs... all of them. It [the browser] kept telling me that it was suspected of being infected.
The fix was simple enough. It was just a case of deleting the cookies.
No, I'm not an IT wizard

Pet peeve

.
I use email a lot, so I receive a lot of emails. Many... some would say too many... are unsolicited. I'm not talking about spam. That's whole 'nother topic and I thank my ISP for the email filter that keeps all but about 2% - 3% from finding it's way to my inbox.
What I am concerned with is those emails that are forwards of forwards of forwards. The one that show every sender and recipient since Al Gore invented the Internet.
It's okay to send those things. Some a really entertaining. Just do me a favor... two favors. Remove all of the prior senders and addressees and send it as blind copy [Bcc] because I, honest to gosh, don't give a hoot who in the world besides you and I have seen it.
Oh, and a third favor -- don't ask me to forward it or threaten me with dire consequences if I don't.

...and if you don't forward
this to everyone in your
address book within
the next 30 seconds,
your library card will expire

"Good things" I've read???

I read this article... because I am fascinated by maps... and I don't doubt the statistics one bit, particularly the part about spam.
I think the home

I don't care what anybody else says...

.

Opening day is tomorrow because there's only one team that matters.
I used to be a Dodger fan. Then they moved. The Giants won me over their first year in the city. Someday I may even get down to the not so new any more ballpark to see a game.

No, I don't hate anyone
.

What's in a name

.

I saw on the news last evening that there is a new baby giraffe at the Denver Zoo. They named him Blizzard because he was born on March 27 during a blizzard.
I was just wondering what kind of names people would have if they were named because of what was happening at the moment.
It almost boggles the mind

WT...?

.
I saw this on another blog:

When the store manager returned from lunch, he noticed his clerk's hand was bandaged, but before he could ask about the bandage, the clerk said he had some very good news for him.
"Guess what, sir?" the clerk said.
"I finally sold that terrible, ugly suit we've had so long!"
"Do you mean that repulsive pink-and-blue double-breasted thing?" the manager asked.
"That's the one!"
"That's great!" the manager cried, "I thought we'd never get rid of that monstrosity! That had to be the ugliest suit we've ever had! But tell me.Why is your hand bandaged?"
"Oh," the clerk replied, "after I sold the guy that suit, his guide dog bit me."

Laughter is where you find it.
I received another in an email
that I don't dare repeat here

While you weren't looking

Someone had a birthday today.

His mom took cupcakes to school to celebrate Gabe's seventh birthday.
I suggested to his
grandmother that
we put a ribbon on
his bike and give
it back to him

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GABE!!!

'bout 'n hour or so

This map struck me funny.

Just for today

.

In the interest of fairness and the fact that this blogger doesn't want to bore you all to tears, I will refrain from mentioning or posting pictures of a certain new arrival.

Maybe tomorrow?

I will, however, post a joke I was sent:
Why 65 year old women should not give birth -
With all the new technology regarding fertility recently, a 65-year-old friend of mine was able to give birth. When she was discharged from the hospital and went home, I went to visit.
'May I see the new baby?' I asked
'Not yet,' She said 'I'll make coffee and we can visit for awhile first.'
Thirty minutes had passed, and I asked, 'May I see the new baby now?'
'No, not yet,' She said.
After another few minutes had elapsed, I asked again, 'May I see the baby now?'
'No, not yet,' replied my friend.
Growing very impatient, I asked, 'Well, when can I see the baby?'
'WHEN HE CRIES!' she told me.
'WHEN HE CRIES?' I demanded. 'Why do I have to wait until he CRIES?'
'BECAUSE I FORGOT WHERE I PUT HIM, O.K.?!!'
I didn't say it was a good joke
