MISSION STATEMENT:

What was here yesterday probably has no bearing on what is here today.

What you see today will have no bearing on what you see here tomorrow
...maybe

Day 28

Today!
We went to Central Park, via subway to the Museum of Natural History.

I didn’t take any photos inside

Some really ridiculously narrow skyscrapers
I kinda wonder if someone isn’t secretly saying, “Mine’s bigger than yours!”

Belvedere Fountain from Belvedere Fountain

We got a free big band concert by a traveling band from Holland.

I can’t upload the video

Then we had dinner.

…and dessert

Day 27

What happened?
Sleep is what happened.
After this . . .
A visit to World Trade Center

The 9/11 South Tower Fountain

I was struck by the reflection of
the WTC tower in the windows

There was lots of time so we caught the subway to Brooklyn and walked back to Manhattan on this iconic structure.

Then we rested for a few moments here.

City Hall Park

…and I crashed as soon as we returned to our hotel.
On top of that I had totally screwed of the count of what day of the trip it is. That’s been fixed

Day 26

I won’t bore you by telling how much we have walked the past two days.
Today we visited a couple of landmarks.

The original patina

Saw a sailboat

Trinity Church is really old, and a block from
Wall Street. Alexander Hamilton is buried
here, Robert Fulton of steamboat fame, too

NYSE

Day 25

Yesterday, Day 25, was so full of movement there was no time to post.
More of that today.

Day 24 a train ride

The Buffalo train station is no longer in use

Scenery is mostly terrific

Another ruin, at Albany

Hudson River, at Albany

About 6:00pm
Just about there

Day 19

A river runs through it.

Yesterday was a really nice day.
This morning it was cold enough to snow here . . .
. . . and it did!

It didn’t stick.
MB posted a short video on the koobecaf.

Days 15 – 17

Nada, nichts, zilch, nothing to see here.

Not that we haven’t managed to keep busy.
Except for a major storm blowing through, with all of the bells and whistles, including tornado warnings, nothing worth mentioning has happened.

We’re relocating for a couple of days.
Maybe there might be a picture?

Day 14

There’s this thing that, by taking this trip, MB and I seem to have escaped.
For a fee, you can arrange to have friends, neighbors, coworkers, employers, or even perfect strangers flocked with flamingos of the artificial variety.
It’s one of those shenanigans that kind of appeals to me. Those who have visited us know we already have a small resident flock at our house.

Here is my contribution to the current trend

Day 12

So, Skip, why is it you aren’t able to take any pictures?
I have no excuses.
There’s a perfectly good camera in my pocket, except when I leave it in the car.

Speaking of which, I have yet to show you the new ride.

I did tell you about that, right?

The short story is the Fossil* has been handed down two generations, and been replaced with this.

The Silver Streak
There, I actually posted a picture I have taken

11 is a Friday cats!

. . . but the two cats here are shy.
Well, one of them is.
The other just won’t sit long enough for a portrait.

So, if you came looking for cats.
Not this week.

Day 10

A quick scoot to Kent State for a lunch date with the easternmost of the grandchildren.

Rain made today’s travels a true adventure.

That, and then driving back to Napolean, an overall distance of 176 miles.

9th Day

I’m breaking protocol today for two reasons:

1) there are no new pictures to post, and

2) I am irked

Booger won’t let me reply to comments on my own blog, or on a lot of other blogs.
It will let me comment anonymously on a few other blogs, but what’s the point of that.
It seems that, if I want to use my own identity to comment, it must be done from the privacy of my residence using the desktop PC.

So, Craig, Joe, Sandee, and Messymimi, I have not been ignoring you.

Craig - we did our viewing of the eclipse at Avon, Ohio, where my cousin lives.
