MISSION STATEMENT:

What was here yesterday probably has no bearing on what is here today.

What you see today will have no bearing on what you see here tomorrow

Odds 'n ends

I gotta remember to use the phone camera when we go for our walk tomorrow.
There were a couple of opportunities yesterday, but I wasn't even thinking.
At least not thinking about photographs.

Information abounds regarding the current virus that's inconveniencing so many folks.
Much of it conflicts earlier information.
What that tells me is there are a lot of alligators and few hummingbirds [nah, I won't explain the reference . . .   it's a stretch, anyway].

So . . .   in lieu of a picture from yesterday, here's one from February 2017.

Monday update

  • Maybe . . .   just maybe, the weather will warm up enough to take this shelter in place into the back yard on onto the front patio.
  • We did get out for an hour this morning to walk one of the trails in the greenbelt area.
  • There were about a dozen catalogs in the mail. It only takes about 30 seconds to wipe down each piece of mail with a sanitary wipe. Then another five minutes to let it dry before delivering it to She Hulk.
  • When a package is delivered, it is a major undertaking to sanitize it.
  • Tonight's dinner is Spam and macaroni salad.

what?

. . . and today we got this

From She Hulk.

She posted it on koobecaf.
I'm tempted to tell her that she can leave her room any time she wants and come out to the family room.

Everyone here is fine and staying safe.

I stole this

While riding my Harley, I swerved to avoid hitting a deer, lost control and landed in a ditch, severely banging my head.
Dazed and confused I crawled out of the ditch to the edge of the road when a shiny new convertible pulled up with a very beautiful woman who asked, "Are you okay?"
As I looked up, I noticed she was wearing a low cut blouse with cleavage to die for...
"I'm okay I think," I replied as I pulled myself up to the side of the car to get a closer look.
She said, “Get in and I’ll take you home so I can clean and bandage that nasty scrape on your head.”
"That's nice of you," I answered, "but I don't think my wife will like me doing that!"
"Oh, come now, I’m a nurse," she insisted. "I need to see if you have any more scrapes and then treat them properly."
Well, she was really pretty and very persuasive.
Being sort of shaken and weak, I agreed, but repeated, "I'm sure my wife won't like this."
We arrived at her place which was just a few miles away and, after a couple of cold beers and the bandaging, I thanked her and said, "I feel a lot better, but I know my wife is going to be really upset so I'd better go now."
"Don't be silly!" she said with a smile, while unbuttoning her blouse exposing the most beautiful set of boobs I’ve ever seen.
"Stay for a while. She won't know anything. By the way, where is she?"
"Still in the ditch with my Harley, I guess."

Are we on a roll?

If I actually post this we are.
All things being equal, I just can't not post this.

It reminds me of . . .
seven in a row (days, that is)

Follow up to an old post

The post is so old it should be an olde post.
Well . . .   six years ago anyway.
When I posted it, I made a reference to Jessica Simpson, but I didn't explain it any further.
Some folks were unfamiliar with her.
Here's an explanation.

If you need more information about her, Google it.

Had to post this

I tried to donate blood today.

Never again.
So many stupid questions!

Who's blood is it?
Where do you get it?
Why is it in a bucket?
stolen from an acquaintance
. . . in Britain if you must know

Update:

The last post was a tad premature.
The Governor had another press conference/public briefing.
Now all of California is under orders to stay at home.

We can still go for groceries and walk the dog.

So now it's almost lockdown

The order has been issued.
As of 12:59pm we may leave the house only for essential purposes.
In essence that means to shop or for medical purposes.

Why is took this long to make the announcement is the main question.
It could have just as easily been done on Tuesday, when we were told to maintain a 6 foot social distance.

Hey!
I need something to grumble about so I can feel better when I am done.

It can be dangerous, I know

. . . but I was thinking.

The media, television news, anyway, wants to sensationalize what they broadcast so they gain viewers.
The locals don't do it quite as much.
Sometimes they even tell the entire story and get it right.

So, what is it I'm talking about.
The toilet paper and hand sanitizer rush we've had.

The original story was broadcast weeks ago.
It was about how Australians were having difficulty getting TP and hand sanitizer because theirs is made in China.
Because of the novel Corona virus the Chinese were not producing and shipping the stuff.
It's and interesting story.
What happened, though, was the producers of the story failed to emphasize that the issue was in Australia and also that the U.S. produces its own TP.
They're really good at only telling part of a story.
It means they can tell a part of another story.

Saying they're sorry later takes only a little bit of time and nobody really listens anyway.

There's something else on my mind, too.
It's a little more serious.
I haven't said much about the current major challenge in the world right now.
I won't joke about it because it's not funny.
The more I learn about it, the scarier it gets.
I will expound further when my thoughts are more organized (POCIR).

I cheated

Haven't been here lately . . .    even to lurk.
I missed Craig's birthday.

Anyhow traffic from elsewhere is holding up for some reason or another.
I decided I could help by posting a link to an old, old post on koobecaf.
We shall see what happens.
