MISSION STATEMENT:
What was here yesterday probably has no bearing on what is here today.
What you see today will have no bearing on what you see here tomorrow

It begins
What's that you say?
Tomorrow is the first day of Advent, the Christmas season.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
It was relatively quiet at People to People compared to previous years.
It was relatively quiet at People to People compared to previous years.
That just meant we had plenty of leftovers to take to Loaves and Fishes to feed others.

Happy Thanksgiving
There are about 60 turkeys to cook, not to mention everything that goes along with a Thanksgiving dinner for a crowd.

It’s done
The PC is now in the office and all of the peripherals are connected and functioning as they should.
MB and I had a short conversation in the midst of relocating stuff.
The gist of it was that we don't have enough room for all of the stuff.
We've had that conversation before.
It will probably be repeated.

Movement
Things have been stirring around here for several months.
MB's mom had occupied two rooms here for about 14 years.
One was her bedroom, the other a sitting room.
When I say occupied, I mean there was no room to spare . . . and it seems like something was being added regularly.
When I say occupied, I mean there was no room to spare . . . and it seems like something was being added regularly.
She basically lived in those rooms, coming out for meals, and to leave the house.
When she had visitors, which was often, they went to her sitting room.
Those rooms have been pretty much cleared out and are available as guest rooms for family when they visit, or when grandkids stay over.
We have another room that served as a guest room.
It was originally the fourth bedroom, but had been converted to a home office.
The living room serves as an overflow for guests, as it has a queen size hide-a-bed.
Anyhow, the former guest room is again becoming an office.
When I moved here, I brought the bookcases that had been in the den in Anderson.
They just fit along one wall in that room.
A neighbor gave us a desk that will serve nicely for the PC.
The lighting is much better in that room, too.
As soon as I have finished with this post, we'll be disconnecting power and moving around the corner to the next room.
This entire process has taken since last May because it has involved sorting, separating, curating, recycling, cleaning, dusting, patching, painting, furniture moving, and inquiring if anyone wants something in particular, which always seems to involve more than a simple yes or no answer.
There is still much to do because we still have to tackle the garage and the things out in the shed.

Monday update
Maybe we're on a streak here?
Day seven.
There may be some improvement regarding my ear.
I think so.
The next big thing is Thanksgiving.
People to People is on again this year after a one year hiatus because of the pandemic.
This will be the 25th year of the event.
There've been a few changes.
MB had pretty much had to ramrod the whole thing this year.
The other folks with the most experience have all moved out of state.
She's been hand-holding the folks who have stepped in as replacements.
Some of the resources have vanished as well, but replacements have been found.
The question now is how many will arrive to have Thanksgiving dinner.
It'll be something like this . . . only with people eating for about three hours.
They'll be seated by hostesses and served by waitstaff, with dignity.

No!
Yesterday's post had nothing to do with what I posted the day before.
It was purely coincidental.
. . . and I like trains

Square one
I originally started this blog because I knew some others who were blogging, and because I thought it would be a good way to keep family and friends apprised of some physical issues I was having at the time.
That was in June of 2008.
None of those folks are blogging now and I am well beyond those physical issues, not that there aren't some lingering effects, about which I sometimes grouse.
Today there are different physical issues.
I'm not complaining.
In fact I'm rather grateful that they're only minor and require no prescriptive medication . . . so far.
So . . . square one is where it all started.
I'm have some difficulty with my left ear.
It's been misbehaving since the first crossing of the Rockies back in August.
I saw my Dr. and was referred to the Audiologist, who's given me some exercises to perform to see if it improves the situation, which is more of an inconvenience than a concern.

One more thing
. . . about our road trip:
The high point was Rocky Mountain National Park [Ba dump...tish!]
Trail Ridge Road (U.S. Hwy 34) is the highest continuous highway in the United States.
Eight miles of the road are above 11,000 feet in elevation and it reaches 12,183 feet on Trail Ridge.

Stuff
So if you've been around here for awhile you realize I've been on hiatus.
I took a break right in the middle of posting a series of photos I took at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.
I'm sorry.
I lost interest.
We took a lot more pictures as we traveled onward.
We were on the road for six weeks.
That means we were away for two days longer than the last road trip.
We visited 17 states and the banana belt in Ontario.
Somebody counted the number of national parks, museums, monuments, et al.
We also put more miles on the car this time, too.
But that was because of a detour we took to avoid high winds and snow, and so we could have lunch in Bernalillo, New Mexico.
I won't bore you with details.
MB posted all about our travels on koobecaf.
It's time I either start blogging again, or drop the effort.
I have one more thing to say:
"Be careful when opening the Dole mixed fruit cups that some hotels include in the Grab and Go breakfast.
"There's no airspace and it will automatically spit about 1/4 of the 100% fruit juice." [DAMHIK]
