Short story
Back when I was a pizza cook, there was a kid working for me.
He was in the FFA [They used to be Future Farmers of America, but that's a different story].
He raised a pig as his project.
Every take the scrap vegetable leavings from food prep, and we generated a lot, home to feed that pig.
Those were some of the best pork chops and ribs I ever had.
pig's name was Ham

Odds 'n ends
I've been saving this picture.
The tomatoes were harvested this morning.
BLTs for dinner tonight.
I will prepare the bacon before today's warm [back into triple digits again] temperature poses an issue.
Speaking of warm. . .
Some of the weather folks are telling us it will be into the teens by the weekend.
The cat, Sebastian is his given name [he is also called Junior, roadblock, speedbump, and, sometimes, d**khead, among other things), has become quite independent.
Most days he appears only at mealtime.
On the other occasions he shows up, it is to find a spot to sleep.
If there's a lap, that's his preference.
We can tell when he wants to go out.
He will start running from one end of the house and when he gets to the living room, he gets airborne, makes a circuit, and departs through the kitchen, into the family room, where he will hide until someone opens a door for him.
I'd hate to see what he would do if there was catnip.
because it's Tuesday

Finally
That last vacation post.
We almost made this drag on for a month.
(Oh, we did.
That's right the vacation started on the 3rd.)
So, there we were*, wondering what to do on the last day in Maui.
When one is in South Maui that isn't difficult to determine.
It's where all of the best beaches are.
We had yet to do an actual beach day on purpose.
The best beach is only a few miles from ourhotel resort.
Everyone calls it Big Beach.
It's big.
It did rain . . .but not much.
I took some still shots, too [and some more videos, but I won't bore you with them].
There was an interesting looking forest behind where we sat.
Then I noticed an interesting vine with a pink flower.
It turns out there were lots of pink flowers.
The last night we had dinner at
It was raining like a [metaphor].
You have to have been to Joe's to understand just what that entails.
Let's just say I got a little wet.
Dinner was worth it.
Yes, that's meatloaf and I would go back.
I even ate the mashed potatoes.
Since this is the last Maui post I have to include two pics from the day we departed.
