God made up for it.

I had three posts already set to hit the blog on consecutive days... yesterday (Friday), today (Saturday), and tomorrow (oh come on, you can figure that out). Then there was this kerfuffle at the Googleplex and things were all messed up. Well you've heard that saying about if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans. Anyhow, my Thursday post was up. It even had comments. Then it was gone, along with every other post anyone put up on Thursday... and the comments, too. A lot of bloggers are posting about it ...now that we can. Ironically, I had posted that Wednesday, was Twilight Zone day. So anyhow, I'd written and saved the three aforementioned posts and posted the Thursday one with the ducks video. Then everything went kablooey for about twenty some hours. When it all started to come back I put up a new post, not knowing what, if anything would show up.

Then I went and picked up my lawn mower which was at the repair shop because it had become hard to start. I took a gas can with me so I could get some fuel for the mower. When I got home I found that the gas container had a leak... which was why I smelled fuel on the drive home. So I emptied what was left of the fuel into another container, which I made sure didn't leak, and started to mow the back lawn, which had really become something of an eyesore because of a lack of mowing. About halfway through the job the mower stopped. It has gone from hard to start to unable to start... yes, it has gas!!!

Wait, this is about blogs. So when I came back in I looked and saw that the duck video is back but had been dated as a second post for Wednesday. Looking further I found that the post I wrote for Friday is somewhere in the wind, along with the post for Sunday, and the post for today was just listed as scheduled. So... I wrote a new post for Friday that's nothing like the original clever one that totally avoided mentioning that it was Friday the 13th actually happening on Friday. Then I rescheduled and edited my post for today to reflect my disappointment with stuff that happens and we can only control our attitude about it. Mine's bad.

This morning Grandma Skip and I got up early to do our thing with the Lions Club. Yes, there are pictures and they'll be over on the Lions Club's blog sometime soon. That's where the make up was done. First, there were more riders on the bike ride this year than in any of the previous years. Second, it was clear and calm this morning, if not exactly balmy. Predictions have been for the possibility of rain and wind. It stayed that way all morning, with a breeze coming up after noon and clouds appearing. Third, and last, it stayed cool for the riders, never reaching the forecast 68 degrees... and it was comfortable for those working the rest and lunch stops, too. So today more than made of for Friday the thirteenth... and tomorrow I will check to see if the lawn mower will start... unless it's raining, or as the NWS says:
